Seven helicopters, two airplanes and four boats are en route to the site, about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay along the central Louisiana coast. Hinderks says they looking to take-off from Edmonton's City Centre Airport Thursday morning and they're hoping for some inspirational support along the way.
"We'll be going throughout Alberta, over 2000 kilometres in four days, and we're asking the veterans of the BCATP to come out at each refueling stop that we hit to sign the airplane, to create a record and a way of honouring them."
Hinderks says they're celebrating an accomplishment that took about a half a million people in total - - and introduced Canada to the world.

A former Calgary cop has been sentenced to one year in jail for accessing and possessing child pornography. Paul Villecourt was arrested 3 years ago after American officials alerted Canadian authorities. A number of graphic images were found on Villecourt's computer and he was actually downloading a video when he was arrested at his Redwood Meadows home. Justice Patrick Sullivan says child pornography is repugnant to all civilized society as he also handed Villecourt a three-year probation. The crown had been asking for 15-18 months in jail while the defence argued for a six-month sentence to be served on weekends. Villecourt resigned from the police service weeks after being charged. He had been suspended with pay after being fined for trying to smuggle a vehicle into Canada without paying duty.
